When I Start Losing Motivation, This Is What I Remind Myself
What to do when you feel uninspired, unmotivated, and disconnected from your goals
There are times when I am on such a high from my brand that I can barely sleep. I literally dream about it. I think about new designs, content ideas, packaging, all of it even while I am asleep. I wake up excited, filled with new energy and vision. Those moments feel like everything is clicking and I am fully in my purpose.
But then there are the other times. The ones where I feel so incredibly unmotivated and uninspired that it is hard to even open my laptop. It feels like all the momentum I had is gone. And in those moments, it is easy to start doubting yourself and wonder if it is a sign to stop or slow down.
But I have learned it is not a sign to quit. It is actually a sign to go even harder.
Those low energy moments are the universe’s way of testing you. It separates the people who give up when things get hard from the ones who stay committed even when it is uncomfortable. Because the truth is, motivation is not meant to last forever. It is temporary. Discipline is what takes over when the spark fades.
When motivation dies down, discipline keeps you moving. It means doing the small tasks when you do not feel like it. It means reminding yourself that consistency is what builds the dream, not random bursts of inspiration.
When I feel stuck or disconnected from my goals, there are a few things that help me get back in flow:
Reconnect with your “why.”
I always go back to my notes, my old ideas, and moments that reminded me why I started. Sometimes reading the first message from a customer or looking back at my early work brings that spark back instantly.Do one small thing.
On those off days, I try not to overwhelm myself with a long to do list. I just do one thing. Reply to one email, make one post, or brainstorm one idea. One small action always leads to another.
