The Most Important Step Nobody Talks About

When you start a brand, everyone talks about design, marketing, TikTok, or building hype. But none of that matters if your product is not strong. The factory you choose can set you up for growth or drain your money and make you quit before you even get started.

I want to say this clearly: Alibaba is an amazing tool. I have used it, I recommend it, and I still believe it is one of the easiest ways to get started. There are thousands of verified suppliers on there that can help you create the exact product you are looking for. If you do your research and vet carefully, it can absolutely work.

But there is another side of sourcing that almost nobody talks about. You can actually see which factories and suppliers the biggest brands are using. Not just fashion brands like Skims, Alo, Lululemon, and Aritzia, but also beauty brands like Fenty Beauty and Rare Beauty. The crazy part is that this information is not hidden. It is all public and verified.

Why This Is So Important

Most new brand owners think manufacturers are some sort of locked door. But the truth is, the factories producing for billion dollar brands are not a secret. They are simply not advertised to beginners.

Big brands work with manufacturers that have already proven themselves. That means high standards, consistent quality, and the ability to scale. When you know who they are working with, it takes out so much of the guessing.

I wish I knew this when I was first starting out. Instead of wasting time going back and forth with suppliers who could not deliver, I would have gone straight to the sources that were already handling major brands.

So Here Is the Game Changer

There is a way to look up shipping records and see exactly which factories are producing for these brands. You can literally type in a brand name like Skims or Fenty Beauty and pull up a list of their suppliers and shipment details. (Below is the exact method I use to see which manufactures the big brands are using)
